Racers in last Saturday’s 12 Hours of Weaverville enjoyed mild weather and perfect conditions. The course was essentially the same as what will be used on October 3 – 4 for the World Championships, save for the new 6/10 mile singletrack still under construction for WEMBO 2015.

While rain in the days before the race treated riders to tacky trails with perfect traction and no dust. Smiling faces peppered with bits of morning moisture were seen on virtually all of the racers as they RitaBcompleted their early laps. The few puddles and wet patches that did exist on race day were mostly dry and gone by noon.

Rita Borelli (pictured) completed 9 laps of the 12 mile course to take second place to Mari Chandler in the pro women category.

Both racers are slated to race the World Solo 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships in October.
