Over the last few days there have been news stories regarding the Valley Fire and other new fires in California.  None of these are close to Weaverville and will not impact the race. The Valley Fire is approximately 240 miles (386 km) away, and is the closest of these fires that started over the last week.
Our hearts go out to those being impacted by the current fires in Lake, Sonoma, Napa counties and other regions around the state.

While there is a fire still burning in the Trinity Alps Wilderness, the last of the Trinity County fires that started in early August, its only recent impact in Weaverville has been an occasional hazy day. Days have been moderate and nights are cooling down. We even got a bit of rain yesterday.
