FASTEST MAN IN WEAVERVILLE The first of Jason Perez’s ten laps was his fastest at 57 minutes and 55 seconds.

There’s no mistaking Jason Perez when he arrives at a race—he’s the guy that usually arrives on his Ninja 250 motorcycle with his bike, tools and camping gear hanging off the back of his Kawasaki on a rear rack that he built for it.

He’s also easy to spot on course; he’s usually leading or at least chasing the leader. The 12 Hours of Weaverville was no exception. The former pro motorcycle road racer put in the fastest lap of day, completing his first circuit of the 12-mile course in 57 minutes and 55 seconds. Eventual winner Steven Mills was right behind Perez on that first lap and logged the second fastest lap of the day at 58 minutes and 12 seconds.

Congratulations to both of these fast competitors. We’re looking forward to seeing both on course for the WEMBO World Solo 24 Hour MTB Championships, October 3 and 4.
