SchoolPitLayoutWebsiteRACER PIT AND RV PIT DETAILS

The pits in Weaverville will be within the football stadium at Trinity High School.

Racers will have access to their assigned pits on the morning of October 3.

PLEASE DO NOT ENTER SCHOOL GROUNDS PRIOR. All pit areas must be cleared out immediately after the race. Nothing can remain overnight after the race. There are permanent toilet facilities in the stadium. Racers and their crew members will be given access to the school’s showers throughout the event and for two hours after the event. We will also bring in a number of portable toilets and hand-washing stations.

Three levels of pits are available: Basic Pits, Deluxe Pits and RV Pits.
These are each described below.

Basic and Deluxe Pits will be placed around the running track and if needed more will be placed on adjacent practice fields. The layout of the school is such that it would not be practical to route the course through the available parking areas. However these parking areas are close by and it will be an easy walk to ferry needed items to the pit areas and we’ll have shopping carts available courtesy of sponsor Top’s Market.

WEMBO rules regarding the pit area:
“The Pit Row Area is part of the course. All riders must pass through it every lap. It will be designed so that all riders travel the same distance to go through it. Each rider will be allocated a 3m x 3m space where they can place their own support tent or hire a tent from the organizers. All tent fittings, including ropes and pegs, must be within the allocated area. Access to the Pit Row Area is by pass, which will only be given to riders, helpers (maximum 3 per rider), officials and media.” Full rules are here: http://www.wembo.com.au/general/race-information/rules

Basic Assigned Pits
Each racer is assigned a 10’x10’ (3m x 3m) pit space that he or she may equip with whatever he or she brings along (pop-up canopy, table, tools, ice-chest, etc.) and that will fit within that space. There are 125 of these spaces within the football stadium and more on the adjacent practice fields that we will assign as needed.

We’re offering a limited number of fully equipped “Deluxe Pits” that will come equipped with two electrical outlets, one overhead light, two chairs, one table and a brand new 10’x10’ pop-up canopy from Caravan Canopies. The football stadium has limited electrical capacity. To meet the requests from racers wanting electricity in their pits the organizers have gone through considerable expense and planning to have temporary power poles, power lines and necessary junctions and cables installed just for the event. However we’re still offering these Deluxe Pits at a cost to the racers that is comparable to what was charged in Scotland. Cost for a Deluxe Pit is $375 or for $450 you get to keep the Caravan Pop-Up that normally sells for $159.
